Inspiration
As a child, I was always fascinated with the realism, subject matter, and process that Saturday Evening Post artist Norman Rockwell used when illustrating his magazine cover artwork.
Combining my past career in sports with the inspiration of Illustrator Norman Rockwell, I am now a fulltime artist living my dream in Las Vegas as “The Illustrator to the Stars”

Techniques
All the artwork that I illustrate is rendered from reference photographs. The better the photograph, the better the final art
I utilize felt-tip markers as a medium when creating the art. Unlike oil, acrylic, or watercolors, where you can blend or change colors, marker is a permanent stain and once it’s put down, it’s down.
As Worcester Telegram writer John Gearan once wrote, “Nobody seems to be able to do what he does with those things”.
career highlights
I have been blessed to have been commissioned to illustrate over 400 Athletic Media Guides and game program covers for NCAA schools nationwide, including numerous Commemorative lithographs for historic school milestones.
I was the official artist for The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, illustrating inductees for the program cover and limited edition lithographs.
I am very involved raising money for charitable foundations utilizing my artwork to fund their charities. From Coach "K" and The Children's' Miracle Network to Imagine Dragons and The Tyler Robinson Foundation, My signed and numbered lithographs have raised thousands of dollars.
Opened Portnoy Gallery LLC in Las Vegas in 2016.

My artwork titled "The Greatest Names in Raiders History" was purchased by The Las Vegas Raiders then enlarged and currently hangs in Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas as a 28'x40' mural.
